Hamleys gets ‘festive’ at new Gatwick Airport pop-up store

Hamleys, the world’s oldest toy store, has launched its very first pop-up store at London Gatwick Airport, offering passengers the opportunity to buy ‘must-have’ Christmas gifts while travelling.
The 25sq m pop-up store located at Gatwick’s North Terminal offers passengers a selection of the latest toys, alongside classic favourites, according to the retailer.
They include the popular interactive Hatchimals, as well as other ‘much-loved’ lines including Playmobil, Barbie, Transformers, Disney’s Cars and Paddington Bear.
“This is our favourite time of the year and we are really excited to be able to bring smiles to children and families with a great selection of toys as they travel through Gatwick this Christmas,” says Hamleys’ Head of Marketing & Web, Mark Drummond.
‘DISTINCTLY FESTIVE’ EXPERIENCE
Throughout December, Hamleys staff at Gatwick will dress up as Father Christmas’ elves to provide passengers with a ‘distinctly festive experience’ when visiting the store. The world-famous Hamley Bear will also make special appearances, adds the retailer.
According to Gatwick Airport’s Head of Retail, Rachel Bulford, “Christmas is the perfect time of year to welcome Hamleys on board, and the store will be ideal for passengers looking to tick some gifts off the shopping list as they await their flight.”
Although the pop-up store has been launched for Christmas, it’s set to remain a prominent feature of Gatwick’s departure lounge throughout the winter and well into spring 2018.
“As we reach the end of what has been an exciting year for retail at Gatwick, it’s fantastic to add Hamleys – a truly iconic London brand – to our wealth of quality retailers,” adds Bulford.
