Ritter Sport’s latest Colourful World of Chocolate activation is running at Frankfurt Airport throughout the month of August.
Titled Meet Don Choco, it has been designed to educate travellers on the brand’s sustainable ethos and celebrate its loveable sloth mascot Don Choco.
The activation, located in the Frankfurt Airport Terminal 2/Non-Schengen zone, has been brought to life in partnership with Media Frankfurt/Frankfurt Airport and features the #DiscoverRitterSport hashtag to amplify the brand’s campaign message.
As well as helping to build awareness of Ritter Sport’s 30-year sustainable brand journey, the Frankfurt activation offers travellers an ‘interactive and experiential’ way to discover the German chocolate specialist’s travel retail exclusive range.
“At Frankfurt Airport we wanted to further amplify our Colourful World of Chocolate brand activation through the combination of digital advertising and interactive campaign space,” said Ritter Sport Marketing Manager Travel Retail Kerstin Krüger.
“This storytelling promotion has been a great way to showcase our sustainability journey and bring our cute sloth mascot Don Choco to life.
“He is both our brand ambassador and central character for the promotion; by replicating the activation’s visual imagery across digital billboards elsewhere in the airport, we can draw attention to the story behind our cocoa farms at El Cacao in Nicaragua.”
A highlight of the activation is the eye-catching cocoa tree installation, with its educational and entertaining digital elements.
It sits alongside a Colourful World of Chocolate infotainment tower, which tells the story of the brand’s recent carbon neutral certification journey through touch-sensitive digital screens.
Another key feature is the vibrant Ritter Sport branded chocolate sampling machine, which also starred in the debut Colourful World of Chocolate activation that launched at Zürich Airport in June.
The machine attracts consumers with the ‘What’s Your Flavour?’ slogan, inviting them to answer a few questions from Don Choco via their mobile device in order to receive their ‘personalised’ chocolate sample from the touchless vending mechanic.
Coloramas are placed in high-visibility locations at the airport for the duration of the promotion period to help drive customers to the activation.
