Covid-19: Recyclable carton masks creating buzz for Hanse Distribution
By Luke Barras-hill |
Hanse Distribution GmbH has launched an environmentally friendly line of face masks as the company reacts to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in novel ways.
The carton mask was borne out of concern for the damage to our planet caused by millions of disposable face masks.
After it became recommended – and in some instances mandatory – to wear face coverings in public in Germany, the Hamburg-based travel retail distribution specialist began searching for an alternative solution to existing products in the market.
Created in partnership with a printing house in Hamburg, the carton mask delivers a comfortable fit for the user while allowing them to speak unencumbered. The product is being positioned as an ideal accessory for travellers.
One hundred percent recyclable, the mask is being offered to retail customers (not the end-consumer) and retails at €0.06/$0.07.
Hanse Distribution says it has already forged several successful partnerships with retail chains in Germany, including shopping malls and grocery shops.
The masks are also customisable, allowing retailers to emboss their logos on the product to supply to consumers as they enter the shop.
“It is a fantastic marketing space – and again, at very low costs,” said the company. “Be it Visa or Mastercard, airline, duty free operator, football club or insurance company – this is a great marketing tool for any business,” stated Hanse Distribution.
In addition, Hanse Distribution has tested the masks among children, who can illustrate the masks with their own designs to keep or give to members of their family.
