Sustainability Pitch session agenda revealed

By Luke Barras-hill |

Four Sustainability Pitch sessions will take place during Travel Retail Sustainability Week (19-23 April), which coincides with Earth Day (22 April).

With just days to go before the commencement of Travel Retail Sustainability Week – the duty free and travel retail industry’s first virtual event dedicated solely to sustainability – TRBusiness is pleased to reveal the schedule for the innovative Sustainability Pitch programme (see below).

As reported, a revered lineup of companies in travel retail will have the chance of being honoured as Travel Retail ‘Sustainability Heroes’ and Travel Retail ‘Sustainability Trailblazers’ in innovative ‘Sustainability Pitch’ sessions over the five-day Travel Retail Sustainability Week (19-23 April), which is open for business.

More than twenty judges from prominent airports, cruise lines, associations, retailers and research companies – click here for the full list – will scrutinise sustainability focused products, packaging, services, concepts and wider corporate initiatives.

SUSTAINABILITY ACTIONS UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

Following a rigorous assessment process, judges have appraised the overall impact of each sustainability initiative on the environment across a number of areas, including steps to reduce plastic and carbon footprints. All judges have evaluated every pitch.

After each pitch, a short recorded Q&A session will take place between the judges and the pitching company for their respective category.

Each pitching company has received three questions and all participants were given one minute to answer each question.

The judges have marked each pitch out of 100, with the scores also taking into account the responses provided by each pitching company to the questions.

At the end of the process, each Sustainability Pitch entrant will be awarded an accolade based on their achievements.

The four-star ‘Sustainability Trailblazer’ and five-star ‘Sustainability Hero’ logos will provide a handy reference for travelling consumers while serving as a hallmark of excellence for environmentally conscious ingenuity.

CONNECT, CREATE, CHANGE

TRBusiness and partner m1nd-set have set benchmarks determining the four-star Sustainability Trailblazers and five-star Sustainability Heroes.

Travel Retail Sustainability Week continues to attract strong backing from stakeholders across the length and breadth of the industry.

Aside from the Sustainability Pitch programme, attendees will enjoy a jam-packed programme of business networking and daily webinars hosted through the intuitive C-Event platform.

Available on the home page of the event website are video tutorials instructing attendees on how to access the webinar sessions, request and book appointments with fellow delegates, and access Sustainable Networking Hubs.

Complimentary networking has been introduced as a catalyst to drive the industry’s commitment to sustainability.

The free networking function will enable all participating companies to use the event platform as a means to meet and connect with future business partners, who in turn can help to turbo-charge sustainability strategies moving forward.
