Travel retailer Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has named Stuart Barnard as its new Vice President, Supply Chain, Warehouse and Logistics.
Barnard joins QDF with extensive experience gained both in-house and as a consultant in the field.
In his role he will lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the travel retailer’s supply chain and warehouse functions. He will have a strong focus on talent, processes and system.
Barnard will report directly to QDF Senior Vice President Mr. Thabet Musleh.
“2023 was a stellar year for Qatar Duty Free and we are delighted to kick off 2024 by welcoming Stuart to the team,” Musleh said.
“Stuart brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be instrumental as we look to accelerate our leadership and strengthen our operational capabilities.
“Our supply chain, warehouse and logistics function underpins everything we do, and while hidden from the end-consumer is a key interface with our brand partners and ensures that we are consistently positioned to deliver the most memorable and superior experiences in-store.”
Qatar Duty Free operates over 200 retail and dining outlets at Hamad International Airport in Doha. Founded in 2000, it has grown to a 4,000-strong team spanning 62 nationalities.
Last month, QDF unveiled a series of fan zone activities and activations for travellers heading to the AFC Asian Cup Qatar, which runs from 12 January to 10 February 2024.
