NOW LIVE: TR Sustainability Week 2024
By Faye Bartle |
TRBusiness would like to welcome you to the fourth annual edition of TR Sustainability Week 2024, which is taking place all-week-long (from 2-6 December) at TRBusiness.com.
TR Sustainability Week is the duty free and travel retail (DF&TR) industry’s only virtual event dedicated to sustainability, ESG and CSR – and we’ve got a host of great content for you to enjoy.
TRBusiness has joined forces with BCG company and leading sustainability consultancy Quantis to deliver four immersive webinars that will be broadcast on Monday 2 December and Tuesday 3 December (10:00 – 18:00 CET).
In addition to the live conference sessions, you can delve into our pool of exclusive content, including the ever-popular Sustainability Pitches and a variety of news, views and interviews published throughout the week.
“Sustainability is at the heart of TRBusiness,” said Nigel Hardy and Janice Hook, Co-owners & Joint CEOs of TRBusiness. “By shining a light on topical and timely matters, innovations and challenges, including ways to overcome them, on our website and through our ezines and newsletters all year round, we aim to help pave the way for the DF&TR industry to foster a green future.
“Our annual TR Sustainability Week, established in 2021, is the jewel in the crown of our vision and a key pillar of our mandate of ‘helping the industry grow’.
“Over the years, it has transformed into a platform that stands as a vanguard for continuous improvement, offering all those who participate a springboard for forging stronger eco-conscious alliances.
“As we kick-start the 2024 edition, it is incredibly rewarding to see so many DF&TR stakeholders embracing the event by lending their expertise as a speaker, liaising with our editors on exclusive news and interviews, registering to attend as a participant, or showing solidarity as a valued event partner.
“You are each playing a vital role in bringing to life this important event and we thank you sincerely for your support.
“TR Sustainability Week simply would not be possible without you. It’s important to us that the event reaches as many people as possible. That’s why it is, and always will be, completely free to attend. We hope you enjoy the week!”

The Sustainability Pitch programme 2024
TR Sustainability Week 2024 also features the return of the popular Sustainability Pitch programme.
This year, four participants – Ferrero Travel Market, Suntory Global Spirits, Kellanova GTR and Rémy Cointreau – have submitted their pitches into the programme with a view to being awarded four-star ‘Travel Retail Sustainability Trailblazer’ or five-star ‘Travel Retail Sustainability Hero’ status.
The 2024 pitch submissions cover a broad spectrum of areas: from efforts to protect the environment such as biodiversity preservation, ingredients traceability, decarbonising supply chains and reducing, reusing and recycling packaging materials, to personnel development, promoting DE&I and social responsibility.
Their entries have been scrutinised an expert panel of Sustainability Guardians featuring: Julie Lassaigne, Secretary General, European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC); Ian Upton, Head of Category Operations, Fulfilment (inc HCC), Services, Sustainability, Heathrow Airport; and Graeme Stewart, CEO, Enviro-Point.
The Sustainability Pitch sessions will available to view throughout TR Sustainability Week – stay close to TRBusiness.com for the results.

Building on the huge success of the TRBusiness ‘Shorts’ format produced in partnership with The Bluedog Group, TRBusiness is presenting, for the first time a dedicated ‘Sustainability Shorts’ run of video interviews profiling the eco-conscious activities of established and upcoming brands alike.
All those who have registered to attend will receive updates and content round ups direct to their inbox. We hope you enjoy the week!
