Heinemann launches new personal shopper App

By Doug Newhouse |

Gebr. Heinemann is expanding its retail offering by providing an improved mobile phone shopping service for passengers, with the introduction of a new ‘Heinemann app’.

The company says that this now delivers ‘enhanced’ functionality for iOS devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and from Google Play for Android devices.

The retailer says that the app can be used ‘any time’ at home or in one of Heinemann’s duty free shops to discover a wide range of brands and ‘exceptional offers’.

Users of the app are also being introduced to the Heinemann & Me customer motivation programme, along with an invitation to register. Meanwhile, Heinemann says that existing registered Heinemann & Me members can simply load an update to bring their app right up to date.

Oslo Gardermoen Airport is one of Heinemann’s flagship outlets and it is a participating Airport outlet for customers wishing to use the new shopping ‘App’.

INTEGRATED SCANNER

The new app also includes an integrated scanner allowing shoppers to scan price labels in store as well as QR codes on advertisements. Heinemann says this provides more details on the items for sale, which they can subsequently order.

The new Heinemann app also allows keen shoppers and customers who value individual guidance to complete a form to book a personal shopping assistant at a location of their choice, free of charge. Currently, the participating Heinemann Duty Free shops in this scheme include Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest and Oslo).

“The launch of the new Heinemann app is a further service we add to the concept of Duty Free shopping,” says Markus Ettlin, Marketing Director at Gebr. Heinemann. “Our new services packages meet the needs of customers for flexible and mobile services while creating additional points of interaction that enable us to understand them even better.”
