STAZ LINDES YSL faceThe Yves Saint Laurent Beauty company says the definition of ‘truly iconic beauty’ in today’s ‘fast-paced digital world’ is a combination of individuality, experimentation and fearlessness tempered by self awareness.

Based on these values it has appointed Staz (Nastassia) Lindes as its new YSL makeup ambassador, claiming that in its view, the rock guitarist-photographer-model ‘encapsulates the very essence of 21st century beauty’ thanks to her ‘numerous talents’.

YSL says its new partner is British and the daughter of former Dire Straits rhythm guitarist (1980-1985) and composer Hal Lindes.

‘..A SYMBOL OF HER GENERATION’

The beauty company says Lindes – a resident of Los Angeles – was ‘spotted’ in a Santa Monica bowling alley and she also has a musical background as an active member of the Paranoyds band.

YSL International General Manager Stephan Bezy, said: “Music runs through her veins, defines her style and guides her love of leather jackets, vintage military wear – and unashamedly bold lip and eye looks.

“Classic yet cool with pillowy lips to die for, Staz is a true representation of strong femininity today – making her the perfect fit for Yves Saint Laurent Beauty. The great embodiment of the brand – brilliant artist, true to herself and a symbol of her generation.”
