Another successful show beckons, says IAADFS

By Doug Newhouse |

With nearly 30 new first-time exhibitors this year, IAADFS says all the early signs are that this March’s Orlando Duty Free Show of the Americas (March 22-25) will be a very successful show.

The International Association of Airport Duty Free Shops (IAADFS) points to early positive indicators such as registration numbers, and pre-booked accommodation as very encouraging, alongside the 183 exhibiting companies – and counting – that have confirmed their attendance at the Orlando World Center Marriott in eight weeks’ time.

Not surprisingly, the organisers have been encouraged that most of those companies that exhibited in 2014 have reconfirmed this year, with similar or more space to that booked in 2014.

Commenting on the progress with preparations to date, IAADFS Executive Director Michael Payne was characteristically upbeat: “We are delighted to be welcoming back so many of our exhibitors who have always been very supportive.

“We are also excited that during the last year we have added more than 50 new supplier members, many of whom are exhibiting for the first time this year. We expect to have a full trade show floor.” [The current and updated floor plan and exhibitor list can be found at http://www.iaadfs.org/2015floorplan – Ed].

SINGLE ALL-INCLUSIVE REGISTRATION OPTION

The association says that following its successful introduction last year, IAADFS is offering a single registration option that includes access to the exhibition hall, plus all IAADFS-sponsored social events – including the Opening Reception, Gala Evening and Club Americas.

The association says this helps to maximise visitor participation in all social events, making them more valuable as networking opportunities for attendees.

The traditional Sunday Sports Day programme will feature the golf tournament sponsored by American Caribbean Gateway/Macanudo Cigars, tennis, and a fun run/walk sponsored by Essence Corp that benefits the charity Escuela de la Calle.

IAADFS Executive Director Michael Payne, who has built a really successful event over many years, with all the funds raised used to run the IAADFS trade association.

Pre-registration for the show remains open until the beginning of on-site registration on the morning of Saturday, March 21.
