Passengers can purchase bottled water for €1 from tax free stores.

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has introduced a new service to help passengers avoid having to pay expensive prices for bottled water after passing through security.

Under new measures, travellers can now purchase half a litre (500ml) of still water for €1 ($1.2) in its duty free and travel value stores to ease the inconvenience of having fluids over 100ml confiscated from their hand luggage under Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) rules.

Those bringing an empty bottle with them to the airport can also take advantage of 30 drinking fountains, bottle filling stations, and free warm water dispensers across Terminal 1 and 2.

In addition, passengers can freshen up with a shower for €6 ($7.1), with the service including a towel, hairdryer, shower gel and shampoo as part of the airport’s ‘Gute Reise! We make it happen’ customer service strategy.
