Brisbane issues RFP for new fashion & accessories shops
By Charlotte Turner |
Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is now inviting proposals for new premium fashion, gifts and accessories retail units as part of a $40m redevelopment of its Domestic Terminal. This follows an RFP for technology and premium quality books or souvenir retailers, which was issued in February of this year.
Under this latest RFP BAC is seeking retailers with a high quality offering to operate various premises ranging from 18-35sq m as well as those up to 204sq m all situated in ‘prominent locations’ across the Level 2 departures area of the terminal, with the majority of these having never before been available to market.
These new units will sit adjacent to a number of new food and beverage offers including restaurants and bars which will overlook the runway, plus a modern refurbished Qantas café court.
The RFP will close at 4pm AEST Thursday 30 August 2018.
Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) recently completed stage 1 of the retail redevelopment to the Domestic Terminal, with a $15m upgrade of the Virgin end of the Domestic Terminal which opened in June 2016.
This saw the introduction of 19 new retail concessions including an upgraded food and beverage offer with a number of brands opening their first stores in the Queensland or Australian market.
In January 2019, BAC will assume entire operational control across the terminal to create a single terminal; a catalyst for Stage 2 of the retail redevelopment including a $40m upgrade of the Domestic Terminal and retail offer in the Northern (Qantas end) and central areas of the terminal.
Works are scheduled to commence in late 2018 and when complete will deliver 51 new and refurbished stores with new retail offers, taking the total number of retail shops in the terminal to 70 outlets.
In 2017, more than 23m (including more than 17m domestic passengers) travelled through BNE.
