Avolta has expanded its culinary offering at Düsseldorf Airport with the opening of a special edition Le Crobag flagship store airside.

Marking the first such opening in an airport in Germany, the new Le Crobag store offers travellers a chance to enjoy French baked goods and specialities while waiting for their flight.

Located airside at Gate B, the store stretches 190 square metres and offers 75 seats.

It has been designed exclusively for Düsseldorf Airport, with a a golden logo and stylish blue counter.

“We understand the unique needs of air travellers,” said Martin Heuer, General Manager Germany, Avolta.

“With extended layovers, passengers seek a relaxing pre-flight experience.

“In line with Avolta’s Destination 2027 strategy, we want to make every journey as rewarding as the destination.

“That’s why we are offering a unique concept airside at Düsseldorf Airport, with a delicious range of products and a warm service that invites travellers to make the most of the time before their flight.”

A bespoke menu for travellers

The extended product range goes beyond classic French snacks such as croissants, baguettes, and tartelettes, to offer a selection tailored to the needs of air travellers.

There’s a variety of tarte flambée, as well as a bar serving wine, beer and soft drinks.

“The team at Düsseldorf Airport is thrilled about the opening of the first airside Le Crobag and the upcoming shops in the new year,” said Pia Klauck, Head of Commercial Operations at Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH.

“The tailored concepts designed specifically for our airport are set to enhance travellers’ experiences during their visit.

“The fact that we have used the refurbishment to create a further link between the catering facilities and the Hollmann bookstore will also contribute to this, allowing passengers to leisurely explore Gate B in a more relaxed and informal manner.”

Avolta to grow at DUS

The opening of Le Crobag signifies the start of Avolta’s expansion at Düsseldorf Airport.

A second Le Crobag is due to be unveiled landside in February 2024, featuring the ‘next generation’ product range of bestsellers, seasonal offerings available year-round and hot snacks such as pizza baguette and French-inspired pastries.

Looking ahead, the American-style Burger Federation restaurant concept will launch in March 2024.

These will bring Avolta’s portfolio of stores operating at the hub to a grand total of 10.
