Fauchon first at Frankfurt Airport with Heinemann

By Kevin Rozario |

Heinemann Duty Free is running an exclusive pop-up counter until the end of this month with Fauchon which will be serving its colourful macarons – as well as sweet and savoury gourmet products – at the travel retailer’s Z-Main non-Schengen shop at Frankfurt Airport (FRA).

The fresh macarons are available in eight flavours: chocolate, vanilla, praline hazelnut, pistachio, raspberry, lemon, caramel and coffee while the gourmet gift selection includes a French aperitif set featuring Bordeaux wine, duck foie gras with toast and cheddar crepes.

“For the first time ever, macarons from Fauchon are available in a German airport and we are happy to be the first retailer offering them,” says Rüdiger Stelkens, Head of Purchasing LTC at Gebr. Heinemann.

With the opening of the new duty free shops in Z-Main in Frankfurt in October 2013, products such as premium olive oil, teas and coffees, spices, antipasti, seafood and truffles have been made available to travellers.

Many of the products are sourced from Italy, Spain and France. Fauchon is one of three main brands which are prominent in the shop. “In partnership with Fauchon we have developed special gift-style packages and sets for passengers,” adds Stelkens.
