Fendi to enter UK airport retail at London Heathrow T4

Fendi-LHR-T4Italian luxury fashion house Fendi will make its airport retail debut in the UK with a boutique at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 4.

The 97sq m store will merchandise men’s and women’s leather bags, accessories and fur charms, alongside small leathergoods and eye-catching options from its Fall/Winter 2018-19 catwalk collection.

To mark the launch, a kiosk pop-up will feature outside the permanent shop on the concourse for the winter season in another airport first for the brand in the UK.

Running until late February, the pop-up will sell the iconic Fendirama range, new season runway accessories, other small travel accessories, plus limited edition items from its Chinese New Year 2019 collection.

‘RIGHT TIME’ TO ENTER UK AIRPORTS

Ben Crowley, Head of Luxury and Fashion for Heathrow Airport commented: “We are delighted to bring Heathrow passengers this beautiful new Fendi store.

“This latest exciting brand is loved the world over and is a fantastic addition to Heathrow’s luxury line up, enhancing our reputation for housing the best in International luxury brands.

“Terminal 4 customers will have the unique opportunity to purchase an iconic item like the classic Peekaboo for loved ones, or themselves, just in time for Christmas.”

Fendi’s new outlet at T4 expresses the Italian luxury house’s subliminal values and artistic influences in a bright, contemporary and minimalist space anchored by an ivory limestone facade with iconic square patterning.

Visitors to the boutique will be greeted by an imposing ivory limestone facade boasting a contemporary square pattern, with an interior characterised by classic champagne metal shelves with white and gold handmade stucco highlights and a handcrafted 3D plaster wall.

The area is finished with touches of gold and marble surfaces and flooring, inspired by the brand’s traditional maison in Rome.

Serge Brunschwig, Chairman and CEO of Fendi added: “The passage of travellers through Heathrow is highly qualitative and continually increasing.

“Now is the right time for us to move into the airport market in the UK – we wanted to wait to establish a strong retail footprint in London before moving into this sphere and we intend to create a good network of stores within the key airport terminals in the coming years.”

Inside, the boutique showcases men’s and women’s leathergoods and accessories, fur charms and options from its Fall/Winter 2018-2019 catwalk. Meanwhile, an exterior pop-up will sell the Fendirama collection and other items.

As indicated, the latest retail outlet complements an expanding luxury lineup at Terminal 4, with Louis Vuitton unveiling a pop-up at the location in July – its third at the airport.

As first revealed by TRBusiness, the pop-up installation was designed to pave the way for a more permanent fixture, which is understood to go live in November.
