Fortnum & Mason store opens at London Heathrow’s T5

By Charlotte Turner |

Fortnum & Mason, most famous for its wide selection of tea, preservatives and other fine foods, has opened its first standalone airport store at Heathrow Terminal 5.

Following the opening of the store, The Fortnum & Mason Bar is due to open in early December. At the new bar travellers will be able to sample a range of fresh, seasonal food and drink including charcuterie plates, hams, caviars and smoked salmon, alongside an extensive collection of wines and champagnes.

The Fortnum & Mason store at Heathrow Terminal 5 takes up 1,000sq ft, and carries a selection of products from Fortnum’s flagship Piccadilly store, ‘designed with the traveller in mind’.

There are Fortnum’s iconic hampers, as well as a range of its most popular teas and preserves (including jams, marmalades and honeys) and confectionery items. There is also a savoury counter offering a selection of chilled products, including smoked salmon and caviar.

Fortnum & Mason has created a new tea blend exclusively for the Terminal 5 store known as ‘Explorer’s Blend’, which is a combination of Ceylon (Nuwara Eliya), Kenya, China (Green Jasmine) and India (Assam).
