Hamburg Airport welcomes Danish design Flying Tiger

By Doug Newhouse |

Hamburg Airport management describes the new arrival of its 260sq m Flying Tiger Copenhagen store as ‘where Danish design meets Hanseatic taste’ on the landside in Terminal 1.

According to Hamburg Airport management, this new store – which is part of a Scandinavian chain – now sells ‘everyday items’ of ‘stylish Danish design’ with its typically Scandinavian designs lending themselves to practical and colourful products, such as cutlery, household devices, toys, cosmetics and office supplies.

Airport management says that the company’s products are ‘affordable’ yet stylish and original.

Lutz Deubel, Director of Center Management at Hamburg Airport commented: “The new Flying Tiger Copenhagen store is the ideal addition to our shop portfolio. Our focus is on providing our passengers and visitors with an extensive range of shopping opportunities to cater for every possible taste.

LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS

“With its broad palette of unusual Scandinavian lifestyle products, Flying Tiger Copenhagen invites people to come in and discover things for themselves.”

The Flying Tiger Copenhagen design chain is expected to prove popular in Denmark’s capital city where ‘vast numbers’ of Danish passengers use Hamburg Airport every year.

280,000-PLUS TARGET MARKET

Last year, Hamburg Airport attracted some 280,000 passengers from Denmark, with the chain’s first German store actually opening back in 2006 – now it operates more than 700 shops in 29 countries.

In a statement, Hamburg Airport added: “Flying Tiger Copenhagen only sells products of its own brand, designed directly in Denmark. The goal is to make Danish design accessible for everyone and to excite customers with innovation and creativity.

“The company regularly cooperates with international artists to design products.”
