Travel retail watch and jewellery supplier Kurate International has launched its Belle & Beau brand at Lisbon airport in partnership with Portugal Duty Free.

Belle & Beau is a self-select, affordable proposition designed for travellers looking for on-trend designs that represent value.

Launched in 2015, Kurate says the brand is a success story, with new display and counter-top units recently launched.

The listing comes ahead of a spotlight on Belle & Beau, alongside Kurate’s Author jewellery and Moon watch brands, at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition, set to take place in Cannes from 2-5 October.

In addition to the listing with Portugal Duty Free (a partnership between Aeroportos de Portugal/Vinci Airports and Aer Rianta International), Belle & Beau is also newly available onboard Condor Ferries and through London Supply’s border stores across South America.

New fixtures for the brand have been installed on DFDS’s Dover route, and it will launch with ARI at Abu Dhabi International later this year.

Belle & Beau: ‘An important step’

“We are very excited to be launching with Portugal Duty Free,” said Sharon Edwards, Kurate International’s International/Travel Retail Key Account Manager.

“This marks a very important step for Belle & Beau which, with price points ranging from just £12 to £39, presents an easy purchasing decision to travellers.

“And let’s not forget that all the products are perfectly packaged in a bespoke box and bag, to make Belle & Beau perfect for gifting.”

Sister brand Author, with its £35-£125 price point, is also making a debut at Abu Dhabi. Ranges are created for ground, inflight and cruise/ferry stores.

“Author has been very well received by the industry and we have secured a number of inflight listings,” Edwards continued.

“The higher price points make it particularly suitable for airport and downtown shops along with ferries and cruise ships, markets that we are keen to develop in 2023 and beyond.

“Author is proving very popular, especially as it has such a strong sustainability story to tell.

“Its jewellery is made from recycled silver, presented in recycled and recyclable packaging so it can really tick the boxes for both retailers and consumers.

“We are working on more modular displays for Author so we can be versatile in other areas including the cruise channel. We want to open more doors for the brand, with, of course, sustainability being the key message.”

Kurate’s self-selection units were a key focus at this year’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference, which took place in May this year.
