Lagardère confirms 24-store master concession at Gdańsk

Gdansk-Airport-leadAndrzej Miłaszewicz, the CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail in Poland has confirmed to TRBusiness [prior to issuing an official press release] that the company has been awarded the master concession contract for duty free, food service and travel essentials at Gdańsk Airport.

 

LTR will be operating 24 stores including one 1,500sq m walkthrough multi-category duty Free store, which the company says will be the largest store in Poland.

 

Gdańsk is the largest City in the north of Poland with a population of around 460,000. The city is placed on the southern edge of Gdańsk Bay (of the Baltic Sea).

Lagardère Travel Retail has been awarded the master concession contract at Gdańsk Airport.

 

Gdańsk Airport is the only airport in Pomeranian region and the third busiest airport in Poland (3.7m passengers were registered in 2015) with a capacity for 7m.

 

‘LEADER IN POLAND’

Today the core duty free operator is Baltona, who also operates a food/coffee shop.

 

“LTR Poland is the leader on the travel retail market in Poland,” Miłaszewicz told TRBusiness. “Our ambition is to be present in the biggest airports in the country where we can show our professionalism and commitment to meet the high expectations of the landlord.”

 

TRBusiness asked Miłaszewicz if the company was confident going into the tender process.
