LHRT5 ABERFELDY tutored tastings

By Doug Newhouse |

John Dewar & Sons Master Blender Stephanie Macleod oversaw tutored tastings at Heathrow T5 for ABERFELDY Highland Single Malt Whisky with World Duty Free recently.

Macleod attended the World Duty Free Whisky Festival at Heathrow Terminal 5 where she guided shoppers in tastings of ABERFELDY Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky and also introduced them to a new 18 year old expression, exclusively available in global travel retail.

This also involved a a special addition with the exclusive use of bottled water transported from the ABERFELDY distillery’s ancient water source – the Pitilie Burn. This is said to be prized locally for its purity and rich deposits of alluvial gold and minerals.

Commenting on the sessions, Macleod said: “It’s great to meet travellers and talk to them about our John Dewar & Sons fine whiskies. It’s been wonderful being able to answer the many questions travellers have on Scotch whisky and also gain some feedback on our work, which is incredibly useful.

“Seeing travellers at the World Duty Free Whisky Festival, Heathrow Terminal 5 enjoying the great taste of ABERFELDY is really rewarding and a real inspiration!”

Shoppers were given a special Father’s Day ‘gold panner’s rucksack bag to carry their new purchase and the Bacardi-owned John Dewar company says the JKR-designed gift has proved both eye-catching and ‘incredibly successful’.
