Philipp Ahrens takes up post as SVP Center Management at Vienna Airport

Philipp Ahrens possesses decades of experience in the airport sector across different operational segments.

Philipp Ahrens has joined Vienna International Airport (VIE) as Senior Vice President Center Management.

He replaces Björn Olsson, who as reported was appointed Managing Director of SSP’s Sweden division last year.

Ahrens moves to Vienna Airport from Munich Airport, where he spent a number of years in the same role overseeing commercial activities at the Bavarian hub including the Terminal 2 Satellite project and more recent plans to transform Terminal 1.

It is understood that he started in his new position today (4 January). TRBusiness has reached out to VIE and Ahrens for comment.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Ahrens said: “Very proud and happy to be part of the Vienna Airport family and starting as new Senior Vice President Center Managememnt at Vienna Airport. Looking forward to working with my new colleagues and old partners in these challenging times in our industry. I wish you all a wonderful and especially healthy 2021.”
