Avolta has shared a new video of its Kempegowda International Airport operations.

Avolta has issued an update on its duty free stores and food and beverage (F&B) operations at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengalaru, which were inaugurated at the end of 2023.

The travel experience player has released a new video that gives a lively insight into the offering, which encompasses two duty free stores and 14 F&B outlets.

“Bengaluru’s Terminal 2 takes the travel experience to a new level, and we have reflected this with our new concepts, which offer the best experience to passengers in terms of product range, dining options, customer service, and interactive experiences,” said Freda Cheung, President & CEO for Asia Pacific, Avolta.

“As the leading global travel experience player, we have used our extensive knowledge and expertise to deliver the best possible shopping and dining experience to the 31 million plus passengers (base 2022-23) who visit the airport each year, and the positive feedback from customers on the new stores and F&B outlets has already exceeded our expectations.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners at KIAB and BIAL for the continued trust they have shown in us and look forward to the ongoing success of these new operations.”

Avolta has a long-standing relationship with airport operator Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), having operated the duty free shops in its Terminal 1 since 2008.

The travel retailer won an additional 15-year contract in Q4 of 2022 to continue to manage the duty free outlets in the airport’s new Terminal 2 building.

Avolta continues to operate the new duty free stores in a 50:50 joint venture with BIAL.

The 1,740 sqm departures store delivers a ‘luxurious and welcoming’ space inspired by Lalbagh Botanical Gardens.

The walkthrough format takes customers on a ‘sensory journey’ through a glass pavilion synonymous with the architectural style of Bangalore.

The arrivals store, with its 1,896 sqm of retail space, delivers a more ‘urban’ shop environment, which takes its cue from the bustling centre of Bangalore.

The core product categories, including perfumery & cosmetics, liquor, confectionery, and luxury accessories, are represented in both stores, with a wide range of global brands.

Themed areas, such as the Indian Market Place, create a sense of place, showcasing a variety of local products.

Shoppers can discover different zones and tasting areas, such as the Discovery Bar in the Whisky House, which features the latest interactive Whisky Finder technology, and is hosted by expert store staff who are on hand to help shoppers discover their ideal dram.
