Mumbai Duty Free welcomes back travellers with shop and win contest

Mumbai Duty Free is celebrating the post-pandemic return of international travel with a big ticket shop and win contest which offered consumers the chance to win top prizes, from iPhones to BMWs.
The lucky draw contest, hosted between 1 August and 14 October 2022, was open to all passengers travelling to and from Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai.
Coupons for the prize draw were given to passengers who spent INR 4,000 (US$49) and INR 15,000 (US$185) at Mumbai Duty Free, with the number of coupons doubling if the payment was made using a Visa card.
In the first round of the prize draw, eight lucky participants received iPhone 13s.
For the grand event on 7 November, two entrants each won a Ducati Monster motorcycle and one lucky winner received the grand prize of a BMW X1 20d.
“As MDF was coming back to its pre-Covid glory days, the intent was to come up with an innovative campaign that excites, engages, and creates a great brand recall and, at the same time, becomes our asset, where each consumer gets a chance to win exciting prizes every week and every month along with a grand bumper prize,” said Amit Butani, Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships.
“Consumers were wowed by the opportunity that lay in store for them.
“The excitement of seeing families filling in coupons, looking forward to something after a long lull, kids spinning the coupon drum gleefully, and the curiosity of onlookers was extremely infectious and has driven us to create more such events in the future.”
The prize giving took place in front of CSMIA’s Terminal 2 and was attended by airport dignitaries, who presented the prizes to the winners.
Mumbai Duty Free is now looking to organise similar events with big ticket prizes on offer, including the chance to win gold.
