Jeffrey Davis has been appointed to the newly-created position of Merchandising Director of Innovation at Lotte Duty Free. This follows eight years service – finishing as Director of Merchandising Fragrances – at DFS Group Hong Kong, where he was in charge of its global fragrance business said to be worth $360m.

 

Welcoming him to the team, Lotte Duty Free management said: “He built a strong international business catering to all nationalities and created a new and innovated shopping experience with top brands and introduced many first.”

 

At Lotte Duty Free, Davis is now charged with executing a successful and innovative strategy and he says ‘vision and risk taking’ will be the key components to ensure that Lotte maintains its position amongst the leaders in the global industry.

 

BIG AMBITIONS FOR LOTTE DUTY FREE

He said: “My team will be travelling to find the latest and hottest brands and trends to a consumer that demands and deserves this from today’s top retailer. The consumer will know that Lotte Duty Free is the only destination of choice in a world of many.”

 

He also added boldly: “Look out for many exciting changes at Lotte Duty Free in 2016. We will wow the consumer with innovation from the shop floor to online. We will reinvigorate the duty free business with several key creative initiatives in 2016 at Lotte Duty Free.”

 

BACKGROUND: Davis worked for DFS Group in Hong Kong starting out as Merchandise Manager Fragrances and finishing up as Director of Merchandising Fragrances responsible for the retailer’s $360m worldwide fragrance business.

 

Prior to that he was with The Body Shop between July 2004 and July 2008 in San Francisco and London in charge of its $110m fragrance, home fragrance and well-being business. Before this, he worked for Macy’s West in San Francisco between 1989 and 2004.

 

Davis recently attended the New Year’s greeting ceremony at Lotte Duty Free on January 4 and has taken up his duties at the retail giant.
