Israel Assa steps into new SVP role for Lauder

Israel-Assa-Estee-Lauder-lead The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is appointing Israel Assa to the newly created role of Senior Vice President and General Manager, Business Operations, Travel Retail Worldwide, effective 1 July, 2016.

 

In this role, based in Switzerland, Assa will lead The Estée Lauder Companies’ three regional travel retail organizations and will report to Olivier Bottrie, President, Travel Retail Worldwide.

 

Assa joined ELC at the New York office in 2001 as Executive Director, Travel Retail Marketing and was subsequently appointed Vice President, General Manager, Travel Retail Americas in July 2006.

The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is appointing Israel Assa to the newly created role of Senior Vice President and General Manager, Business Operations, Travel Retail Worldwide.

Since July 2014, Assa has been Senior Vice President, General Manager, Estée Lauder, Travel Retail Worldwide. A successor for Assa’s current role will be announced at a later date.

 

A NEW CORPORATE STRUCTURE

Reporting to Assa in the new role, will be: Sue Fox, Vice President, General Manager Travel Retail Europe, Middle East, Africa; Nathan Moris, Vice President, General Manager Travel Retail Americas and Javier Simon, Senior Vice President, General Manager Travel Retail Asia Pacific.

 

This new structure is designed to complement the Company’s existing operations in Lachen, Switzerland, and enhance the organization’s ability to service global and regional clients.

 

Bottrie commented on the new appointment: “Israel’s relationships with retailers and airport management, combined with his deep understanding of the Travel Retail business and our brands, make him an ideal candidate for this key leadership appointment. I am looking forward to working with him in this new capacity”.
