Roel Govers, Corporate Affairs Director, Mars Wrigley Confectionery Netherlands/International Travel Retail.

Mars Wrigley Confectionery Netherlands/International Travel Retail (NL/ITR) has named Roel Govers as Corporate Affairs Director following the decision to merge the divisions in January.

Govers, who joined Mars in December 2015, previously served as Corporate Affairs Director for Mars Wrigley Confectionery in the Netherlands.  He takes over the ITR function from Maud Geerbex and is now responsible for reputation management and stakeholder relations to the Dutch domestic market and international travel retail.

A member of the leadership team and an advisor to Jack Tabbers, General Manager of the recently created larger and stronger unit, Govers is a strong believer in the traffic generating potential of the travel retail confectionery category. He is also a brand PR enthusiast.

Govers, who has a strong background in communications and public affairs said: “Travel retail and confectionery have this implicit strong connection as they are both all about fun. By amplifying the fun factor, synergetic effects are bound to be created resulting in an even more attractive experience for travellers.
