Maui Jim points to several new premium listing gains
By Doug Newhouse |
The Maui Jim sunglasses company reports that it is currently ‘spreading the aloha message’ to thousands of international travellers this summer, by courtesy of the increased number of new listings the brandowner has obtained for its premium sunglasses – both on airlines and airports within Europe and North Africa.
Gebr Heinemann is just one example, with its Maui Jim sunglasses’ display at Oslo Gardermoen Airport’s Terminal 2 Fashion Store in February featuring 64 facings, including styles that the company says appeal to ‘every traveller from the sun-lounger to the surfer, from the fashion guru to the golfer’.
The brand also benefited from a visibility boost at Oslo Airport last month featuring a free-standing 44-piece Maui Jim display with polage screen, plus a decorative surf board adorning the entrance to the sunglasses area of the store.
PREMIUM LISTINGS WITH DUFRY
The brandowner says that amongst those stores now featuring the premium Hawaiian sunglasses brand for the first time from April of this year are the Dufry stores at Basel, Bergamo, Casablanca, Guadeloupe, Marrakesh and Verona.
The company adds that for six months starting 1 June, Brussels Airlines is also listing the company’s lightweight, rimless Maui Jim Breakwall style (#422-02) with gloss black metal legs and Neutral Grey polycarbonate lenses.
Commenting on this progress, Sonja Truchon-Bartès, Sales Manager Travel Retail Europe said: “2016 was a really busy year with strong growth across European and North African markets and 2017 is proving to be just as exciting.
POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM RETAILERS
“The reception from retailers to our wide range of fashion and sport styles has been extremely positive, especially when they experience for themselves the high quality of our lenses. They also welcome our personal approach and Maui Jim’s great customer service.
“From a consumer perspective, Maui Jims don’t just look great, they protect your eyes and enhance your vision like no other sunglass brand. Consumers are becoming very health conscious and they want to combine a great look with the best protection!”
