Hendrick’s ‘Cucumber Curiositarium’ opens in Dubai
By Charlotte Turner |
In the lead up to ‘World Cucumber Day’ to be held on 14 June by Hendrick’s gin, the company has opened a ‘Cucumber Curiositarium’, ‘with the finest specimens of cucumbers from our unusual world’, at Dubai International Airport.
“As the final fortnight leading up to World Cucumber Day begins, travellers can marvel at Specimen 15: The Tallest Cucumber,” says Hendrick’s Gin.
“This spirited little fellow has a head for dizzying heights and when visiting a new city he always looks for the tallest sport in town to drink in the sights,” says Hendrick’s Gin. He’s not short of choices here in Dubai!
Hendrick’s Gin – owned by William Grant & Sons – is infused with rose and cucumber, and best served with a slice of cucumber, therefore the unusual gin maker ‘holds this cylindrical being in the highest regard’, it says.
“World Cucumber Day is an annual celebration on June 14, which sees the unusual gin maker hero the remarkable fruit by adding delightful peculiarity to everyday universal things to inspire people to cultivate and embrace their unusual side,” adds Hendrick’s.
