Qatar Duty Free has renewed a number of sports sponsorships ahead of the country’s National Sports Day.

Travel retailer Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has deepened its association with sports through a number of high-level sponsorship deals, from the Qatar TotalEnergie Open tennis event to golf’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.

February is a significant month in Qatar’s sporting calendar, which also features the Qatar National Sports Day on the second Tuesday of the month. This year it falls on 13 February.

The sponsorship activities, which also include the Qatar ExxonMobil Open tennis tournament, are accompanied by engaging airport campaigns.

‘Shop Like a Pro’ will run at Hamad International Airport, with lines for different retail ‘It’s Crunch Time!’ and ‘Team up’.

The campaign runs from 7 January to the start of March, and offers shoppers a sports-inspired retail experience.

QDF has renewed its sponsorship for the Qatar TotalEnergies Open, the professional womens’ tournament which runs from 11-17 February. The retailer said the deal marks its commitment to promoting women’s sport and female athletes.

In addition, QDF is sponsoring Qatar ExxonMobil Open event on the men’s ATP World Tour (19-24 February), as well as the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters (8-11 February).

QDF is also continuing its longstanding Hole-in-One sponsorship, which offers a US$155,000 Qatar Duty Free voucher to the golfer who achieves a hole in one on the 13th hole.

Other major events taking place in early 2024 include the Asian Football Cup and the FINA World Championships.

QDF will also sponsor the MotoGP and Formula 1 Grand Prix in March as part of its three-year sponsorship agreement with the Lusail International Circuit.
