Alford & Hoff cologne heads for Caribbean TR
By Caroline Sargent |
All American lifestyle brand Alford & Hoff has outlined its travel retail strategy for taking its first men’s fragrance to the Americas and other markets within the Western Hemisphere.
Founded by former Arizona State University athletes Barry Alford and Jefferson Hoffman, the collection includes the signature cologne – developed in association with world-class Perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux of Givaudan – and a diverse range of seven high-performance, technologically-advanced skin care products for men ‘who want serious results with luxury formulations.’
The Alford & Hoff fragrance has already enjoyed a positive reception from customers at Harrod’s in London and online retailer Nordstrom and is designed for the man who ‘wears and buys the best.’
‘He has a sense of humour, is competitive, well-rounded, well groomed, athletic and does not compromise,’ the brand statement explains.
Featuring top notes of fresh citrus and intoxicating herbs, the cologne unfolds to reveal a drop of sweet rum and a core of rare oils and absolutes.
Warm, addictive vanilla and exotic tonka beans present ‘a modern, new masculinity’, while the dry down evokes ‘golden, molten amber poured over weathered leather and soft suede, providing a nuzzle factor that only intensifies with time and warmth of the skin.’
UK LOCAL MARKET OPENS DOORS TO TRAVEL RETAIL
Representing the company at IAADFS 2015, Frank Policastro says, “This brand has a uniquely vibrant and energised positioning, so we are targeting for travel retail a launch in the Caribbean duty free market as our initial phase for penetration, coinciding with local market penetration throughout the Western Hemisphere.
“We will be presenting to several duty free distributors during the exhibition as well as select retailers, since our brand positioning is to maintain highly selective distribution for launch at this time.”
He adds, “Our European launch for Alford & Hoff fragrance in the United Kingdom with retailer Harrod’s has produced very solid results for us, thus opening conversations for travel retailing opportunities within the EU, as well as local market and duty free opportunities within the Gulf region as well.
“As we are experiencing this growth, we have plans to launch Alford &Hoff II later this year.”
The suggested travel retail price for the Alford & Hoff fragrance is $80 for the 100ml EDT.
