Orlando Airport reports successful recruitment drive for partners at job fair
By Charlotte Turner |
Approximately 300 people registered to attend the job fair at Orlando International Airport (MCO) this week, as Florida’s busiest airport and supporting businesses continue recruiting to fill vacant positions.
In 2019, MCO welcomed more than 50 million annual passengers making it the busiest airport in the state and the eighth busiest in the US. MCO is currently engaged in a $3.8 billion Capital Improvement Program to increase capacity and enhance customer convenience.
The job fair, the second one hosted by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) this year, included representatives from approximately 50 airport community businesses. In total, those companies represent 1,700 openings across a variety of areas including food and beverage, retail, airline services, security and cleaning.
GOAA leaders were happy to once again support those businesses by organising the job fair at the Intermodal Terminal Facility knowing the success of those companies ‘means an elevated customer experience for the travelling public’, said the authority.
“The passenger experience starts well before they board their plane,” said Brian Engle, Director of Customer Experience for GOAA. “It’s important for our airport to be fully staffed so we’re able to ensure guest satisfaction and make travellers want to come back again and again.”
