SFO tenders small T3 pop-up concession

By Doug Newhouse |

San FranciscoSan Francisco International Airport (SFO) is offering a one-year, pop-up retail concession contract programme contract principally to small and local businesses for the non-exclusive sale of retail merchandise reflecting the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Airport management says that the space under this award-winning programme comprises a modest 304sq ft located in Terminal 3’s post-security Boarding Area E and will be provided to the winning bidder with ‘move-in ready’ fixtures which are expected to mean that there will be minimal start up expenditures.

An information meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 10.00am in the Terminal 2 Partnering Conference Room No. T2-2-205, at San Francisco International Airport. Airport management says staff will then describe the selection process, the programme elements and minimum qualification requirements, plus addressing any questions or comments from participants.

SFO was honoured for the Best Concession Management Team in North America by the respected Airport Revenue News (ARN) publication within its 2015 Best Airport & Concession Awards programme. It was also recognised for the launch of its innovative ‘pop-up’ concession concept in January 2015 for its newly-renovated Terminal 3, Boarding Area E.

This concept allows small businesses representing the San Francisco Bay Area to gain access to the Airport, with move-in ready facilities designed to reduce the initial start-up costs that challenge many small businesses.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) currently has non-stop flights to more than 39 international cities on 33 international carriers and connects non-stop with 77 cities in the US on 13 domestic airlines.
