Three new collections boost Godiva Americas

By Caroline Sargent |

Premium Belgian confectioners Godiva will be presenting three new collections to buyers at The Duty Free Show of the Americas, as part of a concentrated strategy to drive the company’s business in the region.

Led by Travel Retail Regional Manager Americas/Caribbean Diane Buchanan, the team will be introducing Coeur Iconique Limited Edition, Sablés and Mousse Meringue from booth 823.

COEUR ICONIQUE LIMITED EDITION

This trendy heart-shaped box (pictured below left), designed in two neon pop colour combinations (fresh mint and soft pink or flashy purple and vibrant orange), has been designed specifically to appeal to Millennials.

Heavy on the keepsake and cuteness factor, Coeur Iconique Limited Edition comprises six Godiva hearts, in milk, dark and white chocolate variations and is available from 1 June.

SABLES

Godiva’s fine butter biscuits or Sablés (pictured top right) take inspiration from the culinary traditions of different cultures: spicy ginger from Asia, buttery pecans from Central America, dark chocolate from the African continent and almond speculoos from Belgium, each dipped in smooth, rich Belgian chocolate.

A hot air balloon design on the gold-embossed box conveys a vintage theme of quality and heritage, making the offer relevant to travellers and the TR market.

The collection comprises three different monopacks: Almond Speculoos, Pecan Chocolate Chips and Ultimate Chocolate; an exclusive travel retail Quattro Pack (containing two Ultimate Chocolate, one Pecan Chips Chocolate and one Almond Speculoos) and an 18 piece pack containing individually wrapped biscuits (Ultimate Chocolate, Macadamia Ginger and Almond Speculoos).

MOUSSE MERINGUE

Part of a global collection, Mousse Meringue (pictured below) brings together the world of patisserie with Godiva’s classic chocolates. Beneath each rich, hard chocolate shell is a light and refreshing filling containing a meringue piece. The result is a delicious contrast of taste and texture with light crunchiness.

There are six recipes in the collection, from indulging Chocolate and Praliné, to refreshing Lemon and Mandarin, Tangy Strawberry and Smooth Coffee mousse.

Appealing to all ages, these ‘cloud-like’ confections come in two sizes of nine and 16 pieces, packaged within a light pink gift box finished with a gold ribbon.

In support of these new collections, Godiva says it will continue its focus on driving business in the Americas by creating a total shopping experience for its travelling consumers.

Says Diane Buchanan, “We have an exciting program planned for the year of high profile activations and in-store experiences, enhanced by luxurious personalised fixtures and merchandising concepts.

“Our fully dedicated Travel Retail Team for the Americas will continue to work closely with our customers to grow the business, not just for Godiva but for the confectionery category as a whole. In particular we will continue to focus on developing our Latin America and cruise line business in 2015, both of which still offer a great deal of opportunity. We look forward to welcoming all our customers onto the booth in Orlando.”
