Atlan plan to list DFI on Hong Kong exchange
By Doug Newhouse |
The Atlan Holdings Board of Directors has announced that it is considering establishing a dual primary listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange for its Duty Free International subsidiary to add to the existing listing with Singapore Exchange Securities Trading.
Atlan Holdings is an investment holding company with various interests in property investment, hospitality, auto-components manufacturing and the trading of duty free and non-dutiable merchandise under the ZON retail brand in Malaysia.
The parent company says DFI/ZON has more than 30 years experience in the business [after taking over the Sriwani duty free retail firm more than ten years ago-Ed].
DFI now claims to be the largest local duty free trading group in Malaysia, operating 34 duty free retail outlets and two duty paid perfume and cosmetics retail businesses throughout Peninsular Malaysia. It operates airport, border, seaport and downtown stores.
Atlan Holdings Bhd was incorporated in 1988 as a private limited company as Atlan Holdings Sdn Bhd. It was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1996, and subsequently transferred to the main market in 2009.
