Bacardi creates two exclusive Aberfeldy single malts for China Duty Free Group

Aberfeldy CDFG-exclusive single malts

The new Aberfeldy expressions launch this month.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail has created a pair of 25 Year-Old Aberfeldy single-malt whiskies exclusively for China Duty Free Group (CDFG).

Each priced at US$525 for 75cl, they begin rolling out in the retailer’s stores this month.

Aberfeldy 25 Year Old Finished in White Wine Jupille Cask and Aberfeldy 25 Year Old Finished in Red Wine Jupille Cask are part of the Exceptional Cask Series, a collection of rare single malts created for discerning whisky collectors and malt enthusiasts.

With an ABV of 52%, both expressions have been finished in ex-Bordeaux wine casks from Château Jupille-Carillon – a small family-owned Saint-Émilion winery known for producing wines with rich, fruity flavours and smooth tannins.

The first new release, Aberfeldy 25-Year-Old Finished in Red Wine Jupille Cask, is described as a fruity and spicy whisky, with red berry flavours and a subtle oakiness.

Contrastingly, the White Wine Jupille Cask expression incorporates ripe peach and linseed oil notes, alongside the same fruit and spice backbone.

Exceptional Cask Series additions

Each whisky is limited to 270 bottles. As an extra incentive to purchase, the first 50 buyers of both whiskies will receive a special black and gold display case to house both bottles. Each whisky is also available to buy individually.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail Regional Director Asia Pacific Gaurav Joshi commented: “Our close relationship with CDFG continues with the release of this spectacular pair of rare Aberfeldy malts, specially created to match the profile of the CDFG whisky shopper.

“Aberfeldy is already proving its popularity in the Chinese duty free market, thanks to its fascinating history, appealing taste profile and outstanding inventory of older whiskies which make it increasingly popular with affluent Chinese travellers.”

Both exclusive expressions have been finished in ex-Bordeaux wine casks from Château Jupille-Carillon.

Founded by John Dewar & Sons in 1896, Aberfeldy is located on the southern bank of the upper Tay Valley in Perthshire, Scotland. The distillery draws its water from the Pitilie Burn where alluvial gold is still panned today.

Aberfeldy fruity whiskies are known for their trademark honeyed richness – the result of the distillery’s long fermentation process and high-quality oak casks.
