Estée Lauder displays ‘steadfast commitment’ to China with CICPE debut

The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) made its debut at the China International Consumer Products EXPO (CICPE) in Haikou, Hainan, from 26-30 July, with the aim of illustrating its history, achievements, and ‘unwavering efforts’ within the beauty industry, said the company.

 

Inspired by traditional Chinese architectural elements, the pavilion was designed to reflect ELC’s commitment to China and Hainan, as well as the company’s belief in continuing its long-term, strategic, and sustainable investments in the region.

 

The following ELC brands were involved in CICPE 2022: Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Darphin, Dr.Jart+, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, Estée Lauder, Jo Malone London, Kilian Paris, La Mer, Lab Series, MAC, Origins and Tom Ford Beauty.

 

While The Estée Lauder Companies’ President and Chief Executive Officer, Fabrizio Freda was unable to attend in person, he expressed his excitement for CICPE and the company’s commitment to China via video message, sharing: “I am delighted to send my congratulations to the 2nd annual China International Consumer Products Expo in Hainan and very proud that The Estée Lauder Companies is participating in this prestigious event for the first time.

 

“China is one of the most exciting markets in the world for prestige beauty and our long-term commitment to China remains steadfast and strong. We are particularly excited about the continued growth opportunities in Hainan, a beautiful destination for travellers where our brands can showcase their stories, heritage and high-quality products.”

Israel Assa, Global President, Travel Retail, The Estée Lauder Companies, also expressed his support and commitment to CICPE and Hainan through a video message: “The year 2022 marks the debut of The Estée Lauder Companies at CICPE, as well as the 30th anniversary of the company’s Travel Retail channel business.

 

“As we look to the future, Hainan is and will remain a strategic market for us, offering a unique opportunity for our brands to share their stories with travelers and we commend the recent policies introduced to further support commerce on the island.

 

“We intend to grow our presence in Hainan over the next several years, establishing a new office on the island recruiting local talent to join our team. We look forward to continuing our investment in this important island that has become a top tourist destination for local and international travellers.”

Peter Jueptner, President, International, The Estée Lauder Companies; Javier Simon, President, Commercial, Travel Retail Worldwide, The Estée Lauder Companies; and Karen Housman, Senior Vice / President, Travel Retail Asia Pacific, The Estée Lauder Companies, while not able to attend in person, also sent their best wishes to the CICPE organizing committee and met with key partners virtually throughout the week.

“I look forward to your further collaboration with Hainan, and Hainan will continue to improve its business environment with a more open attitude, providing convenience and support for companies’ localisation in Hainan.”

Over the course of the exhibition, ELC reported that it received ‘a continuous stream of consumers, media partners and well-known key opinion leaders’, keen to trial new products from the company’s hero brands with the assistance of beauty advisors, while immersing themselves into the brands’ stories through a 360-degree mirror room.

 

“The future is bright in Hainan,” added Assa. “ELC is confident that, in collaboration with our key partners on the island, we will only continue to elevate this amazing island destination and achieve great things together. We look forward to bringing the best of ELC to Hainan for many years to come.”
