Lagardère TR World Whisky Tour takes ‘holistic category approach’ in Pacific

A broader range of whiskies characterised this year’s The World Whisky Tour promotion at Aelia Duty Free outlets in the Pacific region, says Lagardère Travel Retail.
Now in its third year, the tour took a ‘holistic approach’ across the categories, with single malts, blends, American Whiskey, Irish Whiskey, Canadian and liqueurs from across the globe.
Southern Comfort, Starward, Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Glenmorangie, Jack Daniel’s, Canadian Club, Johnnie Walker, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, Ardbeg and Aberfeldy were among a crop of leading names to appear.
AUS$10K GRAND PRIZE
Promotions ran across Aelia Duty Free shops in Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown, Adelaide, Cairns, Perth and Avalon throughout May and June.
Przemek Lesniak, CEO for Pacific Region, Lagardère Travel Retail said: “We want to bring discovery and excitement to our customers’ shopping journey when they’re at the airport. The World Whisky Tour promotion offers an opportunity to experience and learn about the very different whisk(e)y styles from around the world, and we thank our key suppliers who partnered with us in this strong activation.”
The promotion offers one customer the chance to bag AUS$10,000 (US$7,000), which was this year won by an Auckland local and regular Aelia Duty Free customer who purchased three bottles of Johnnie Walker Red, taking up the three for $89 ($62) offer.
Customers who spent over $59 within the entire category were eligible to enter, with bonus entries gained on purchases from partner brands.
