The launch of Nike’s largest shop in Southeast Asia will bolster the ‘unique’ retail experience at Jewel Changi Airport, says the development company.
Asia’s Sutl Corporation will operate the outlet, which combines a full suite of sports and lifestyle merchandise including an expansive range of running, training, lifestyle, football and basketball products.
“We are excited to have Sutl Corporation onboard as a partner for the launch of the Nike Beacon store in Jewel Changi Airport, which will also be Sutl’s largest Nike store in Southeast Asia and India,” said Tan Mui Neo, Head of Leasing, Jewel Changi Airport.
“We are always keen to work with brands that can offer interesting concepts for the visitors at Jewel and Nike has an exciting lineup of offerings that will definitely further enhance the unique retail experience in Jewel.”
RETAIL RECRUITMENT DRIVE
Jewel Changi told TRBusiness last month that more than 90% of the retail space at the airport’s leisure and lifestyle hub has now been leased ahead of its anticipated opening in March.
The five-storey structure is set to feature more than than 280 retail and F&B units with 70% of the space dedicated to retail and 60% of the listed brands new to Changi Airport.
Jewel Changi yesterday (21 February) opened a two-day jobs fair, Careers @ Jewel Changi Airport, as it aims to recruit for more than 2,000 jobs across various services including retail and F&B to stimulate Singaporean employment.
The employment drive is being organised by the North East Community Development Council (CDC) and Workforce Singapore (WSG).
Hung Jean, Chief Executive Officer of Jewel Changi Airport said: “We are excited to collaborate with both North East CDC and WSG in Jewel’s first recruitment fair for our partners.
“This is a very meaningful initiative that our partners can leverage to fulfil their manpower requirements, and we look forward to the partnership with both of these government agencies.”
