Taiwan Taoyuan Airport T2 duty free contracts go to bid
By Luke Barras-hill |
Retailers are preparing to contest the long-awaited Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2 duty free tender, after initial bid details were today revealed.
Two 12-year leases with three-year extension options have been made available by the airport, a well-informed source confirmed to TRBusiness today.
Official documentation is expected on 1 June, with a bid deadline set for 23 July.
The current 12-year mixed category concessions across T2 North and South wings, which have long been operated by Tasa Meng Corporation and Ever Rich D.F.S Corporation, respectively, expire in August.
A strong contest for the two contracts is expected from local and foreign companies, following a decision to permit international vendor bids last year.
Dufry, DFS and Lotte Duty Free are understood to be interested in the concessions.
TRBusiness has reached out to the airport authority and hopes to bring you further comment on the contracts in due course…
