Borsalino expands GTR presence with Milan Malpensa hat boutique

Italian luxury hat maker Borsalino has opened a mono-brand boutique at Milan Malpensa Airport as it seeks to further develop its travel retail presence.
Located in the highly visible Piazza del Lusso shopping arcade, the new store is accessible to both Schengen and non-Schengen passengers.
The interior has been designed to reflect the heritage of the ‘Made in Alessandria’ maison. Collections carried include hats, caps and accessories for all genders.
The Milan Malpensa boutique joins recent openings at Milan-Linate, Rome-Fiumicino Terminal 1 and Rome-Fiumicino Terminal 3.
Founded in 1857, Borsalino aims to bring together creativity, innovation and one-of-a-kind manufacturing skills in a “modern concept of beauty”.
The brand says its craftsmanship has been handed down from generation to generation. It is understood to be Italy’s oldest hat maker.
“Our development strategy of travel retail continues to grow, supported by our recent strong performance,” said Mauro Baglietto, Borsalino General Manager.
“This new Milan Malpensa boutique allows us to intercept an international public as well as consolidate our presence in the city of Milan where we have boutiques in galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, via della Spiga and in the Milan-Linate Airport.”
Milan Malpensa was the host of Prada Beauty’s first permanent airport beauty counter when it opened during September 2023’s Fashion Week.
