Cartier has opened a new luxury boutique at Frankfurt, expanding its presence in European travel retail.

Luxury maison Cartier has continued its expansion into European travel retail with the opening of a 145 sqm Frankfurt Airport store in partnership with Wempe Jewelers.

Described as reflective of Cartier’s “devotion” to elevating retail experiences in travel, the boutique is located in Frankfurt Terminal 1B.

It is the first store in a German airport to offer products from across the full Cartier range.

The boutique features an eye-catching façade in a champagne gold colourway. Once inside, passengers are met with an open space complete with custom chandelier.

A signature feature wall is cast in French Casamance wallpaper. It depicts panthers roaming from Frankfurt to notable landmarks across Germany.

Locations depicted include Frankfurt’s iron bridge and a mediaeval house in the Old Town. Berlin’s television tower and Cologne cathedral also appear.

A private salon inside the boutique allows shoppers to spend time in the Cartier brand universe.

The range on offer in the store spans jewellery, timepieces, leather goods, fragrances and gifts.

Cartier at Frankfurt: First full-line boutique

“Located at the heart of Europe, this new boutique is an exciting step towards our strategic presence on the continent,” said Virginie Martignac, Cartier Global Travel Retail Director.

“Historically an important city acting as a key entrepôt for commerce into Germany, Frankfurt remains today a dynamic financial and cultural centre, which serves as the perfect backdrop to our expansion of the Cartier universe.

“Being the largest airport in Germany, Frankfurt Airport is a valuable partner to the Maison. Our mission is to bring our elegant savoir-faire, creativity, and luxury shopping experience to travellers from across the world.”

Head of Wempe Kim-Eva Wempe added: “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to quality, elegance and timeless beauty.

“We offer our customers the opportunity to immerse in the unique world of Cartier and discover the impressive selection of exquisite jewellery and watches.

“We are proud to continue our collaboration by opening the first full-line boutique in a German airport and offering passengers at Frankfurt Airport an unparalleled shopping experience.”

“We are therefore very pleased to be able to celebrate this important milestone together in the further development of our luxury offering for our discerning guests at Frankfurt Airport.

“We would particularly like to highlight the excellent collaboration with Cartier and Wempe, their holistic approach to all processes and subject areas will guarantee the success story of the newly opened Cartier boutique.”

In August, Cartier opened a 190 sqm boutique at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport’s Terminal 3 in China.
