Lindt throw glittering party in Cannes

By Caroline Sargent |

More than 100 clients and airport teams were treated to a special night of indulgence by Lindt of Switzerland at the Carlton Hotel, Cannes, Tuesday 28 October.

With Lindt pralines taking centre stage at the event, guests were invited to try their hand at creating their own chocolate masterpieces, guided by one of the company’s Master Chocolatiers, Stefan Bruderer.

There followed a ‘Diva’ themed party where guests received glasses of champagne, each containing a precious-looking stone – two of these transpired to be actual diamonds and Luidmila Andrusova of H.Mournier and Marissa Phanivong from TFWA were named as the lucky winners.

Explaining the rationale behind the occasion, Peter Zehnder, head of the Lindt & Sprüngli global duty free division says, “The Cannes TFWA conference unites the whole of the travel retail world. It provides us with a unique forum to catch up with friends and colleagues, to share experiences and to exchange ideas that help us make progress in the fast-paced and fascinating market that is travel retail. As a pioneer in the business, we at Lindt recognize the huge importance of this event, and we have been supporting it since its inception 30 years ago.

“When we get together with our clients it’s usually to have some form of serious conversation or to thrash out a tough deal. It was great to have the opportunity to relax and simply be spoiled with delicious chocolate. At Lindt we understand the importance of the theatre of retail, and this event enabled us to demonstrate how we can create an experience that is engaging and enticing.”
