The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization that has focused on providing high-quality education for over 25 years, to children from low-income communities across Mumbai & Pune in India. Today Akanksha’s network of urban public-private partnership schools is one of the largest of its kind in India.

Flemingo’s Paul Topping addresses the school’s pupils.

“The computer lab will be used by the students to learn basic computer skills and work towards maximizing their potential,” says Flemingo.

“The computers will also aid in the professional development of the teachers at the public school – to prepare lesson plans, develop effective teaching aids and to track student progress.”

The computer literacy project at the Lakshmi Nagar Public school is the first step of the Flemingo Foundation’s association with Akanksha.

The Foundation sees great potential to work with Akanksha towards learning, innovation and community engagement.

The Flemingo Foundation has focused on children and education since its inception. Today, the Foundation supports the Music Project in Sri Lanka, which brings together children from different backgrounds and religions.

In the past, the Flemingo Foundation also ran a successful educational programme in Sri Lanka, to raise awareness amongst school children, their parents and educators as part of its ‘Stop Abuse’ campaign.

The Foundation has also sponsored SOS villages in Africa and Chennai, India.
