Flio airport app reports 750k+ users in network expansion
By Luke Barras-hill |
Airport app Flio says it has tripled its number of users and registrations in the first three quarters of this year.
The Hamburg-based digital developer claims to be the most used airport app in the world, with a current user base of more than 750,000 making 15 million airport trips per year.
It says it remains on target to achieve one million installers making 20 million airport visits annually.
AIRLINES INTEGRATING THE APP
Flio Chairman and Ex-BAA Retail Director, World Duty Free Chairman and lastminute.com Chairman Brian Collie commented: “FLIO’s key growth drivers this year have been online marketing, product enhancements, introduction of flight tracking and integration of the easyJet App.
“Our focus is always to give the traveller what they want from the airport, in their pocket.”
The app, which is available in languages including English, German, Russian and Chinese, is proving particularly appealing to Asian travellers in Europe.
Its functions include airport maps, editorial content, chargeable lounge passes and retail offers at over 350 airports, plus access to more than 100 parking facilities for a fee.
In addition, it says airlines have started to integrate Flio services into their own apps, including easyJet.
Recently, it was awarded ‘Best Customer Journey Experience’ at the Crystal Cabin 2018 Awards from a panel of nearly 30 judges from civil aviation and its associated segments.
The Crystal Cabin Awards took place in Boston as part of the APEX Expo and AIX North America trade shows.
