Rodenstock to make TFWA APAC debut; builds equity

German eyewear manufacturer Rodenstock and its licensed brand Porsche Design exhibit at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference (6-10 May) for the first time this year.
Rodenstock will be taking the opportunity to present the brand’s latest styles to new and existing retail partners as it continues to build momentum in DF&TR.
Petra Eckhardt-Koestler, Head of Travel Retail, Rodenstock commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to have become a member of TFWA and to be exhibiting at the TFWA Asia Pacific show for the first time this year.
“It is a clear demonstration to our customers of our commitment to building our travel retail presence both in this region and globally. We very much look forward to meeting our existing and new clients in Singapore.”
Aside a new women’s line, a number of exclusive and upgraded ranges will showcase to buyers.
The classic Porsche Design Eyewear P8479 model makes a comeback in a new shape featuring an ultra-light titanium frame, high-quality shield lenses and an almost weightless fit.
Laser Cut P8663 is made of 100% titanium and boasts a new 911 series with grey-tinted lenses that sit flush within the frame. The model, which is not lacquered, boasts the recognisable Porsche Design logo engraved into the titanium-framed temples.
Ti-Namic assumes a sporty feel, with the striking titanium temples mimicking the side air intakes of sports cars made possible through a 3D pressing process. The light titanium frame also ensures high levels of comfort and wearability.
In addition, Porsche Design will reveal a limited special edition ‘40Y’ of the P8478 model to celebrate the brand’s 40-year anniversary.
Supporting the 40Y is the P8478 Limited Special Edition, available in a matte, black frame and featuring grey gradient lenses and a gold-coloured nose bridge. It is presented with four pairs of interchangeable lenses in blue gradient, brown, olive/silver mirrored and mercury/silver mirrored.
Wearers can choose from two sizes, each limited to 911 versions, and can carry the spectacles in a high-quality travel box.
SUPERSONIC SERIES
In a trendy statement, Rodenstock is also introducing its new SuperSonic sunglasses series, a ‘strictly limited edition collection’ comprising two models based on originals available 30 years ago.
The ‘on-trend’ SuperSonic series, available in male and female variants, combines a coated stainless steel frame, mirrored lenses and a distinctive shape in three colour choices.
“Sunglasses continue to be one of the most buoyant categories in travel retail today and travellers demand choice, exclusivity, quality and style,” added Eckhardt-Koestler.
“Rodenstock SuperSonic meets all these requirements and we are confident they will become a highly sought-after model by consumers.”
