Fraternity Spirits adds Rives Gin to TR portfolio

By Caroline Sargent |

Expanding on its already successful portfolio, Fraternity Spirits is bringing to the Americas two new products from its partnership with Spanish company Rives: Rives Pink Gin and Rives Special Gin.

New to travel retail, the spirits present crisp, fresh flavours and have been produced in Spain since 1880.

Rives Special Gin has won numerous awards, including a Gold medal at IWSC 2010 and a Silver at IWSC 2011.

Representing the brand for travel retail and specific local markets, Fraternity says it will ‘share distributors and sales forces where sensible’.

The new lines will be on show during IAADFS (booth 828), where visitors will have the opportunity to sample a variety of cocktails, using Fraternity’s Tequila Corralejo, Rives gin and the Spanish company’s existing range of flavoured cocktail syrups.

Raffaele Berardi CEO, Fraternity Spirits comments, “Through mixology and new concepts such as the TEQ Tropics, Fraternity and Rives are able to build brands from both companies.

“With its premium look and taste, our new Rives gin is the perfect addition to our travel retail portfolio. We want travellers to be able to make cocktails at home which are easy to produce and a joy to drink, and the synergy between our brands makes this very possible.”

POSITIVE GROWTH THROUGH 2014, PARTICULARLY IN TEQUILA

Reporting on its 2014 performance, Fraternity says it has enjoyed ‘above average market growth’ for its Tequila Correlejo brand, reflecting the general growth in popularity for tequila in the US.

Competing tequila brands 99,000 Horas and Los Arango have also seen ‘particularly strong growth in the Americas,’ while El Ron Prohibido rum has recently launched in California with ‘encouraging’ sales figures.

The company also adds it is confident that this success will be repeated in travel retail.

Says Berardi, “Tequila is one of America’s most popular spirits; imports of tequila in America have been growing year after year for over a decade and we want to be at the forefront of this growth.

“Whether you are an experienced tequila drinker or new to the taste, our premium range offers something for everybody.”
