Hudson Group unveils four new stores at Salt Lake City International Airport

By Luke Barras-hill |

Salt Lake City Dufry Shopping is one of four new shops to greet travellers flying through Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

International passengers now have the opportunity to purchase from a high-end selection of tobacco products and wines and spirits, while domestic travellers can take advantage of  fragrances and cosmetics, fashion accessories and confectionery.

Hudson, which is currently involved in a transaction to be acquired fully by parent Dufry, has revealed three other shops at the new Concourse A/Terminal A Plaza operated by the Salk Lake City Department of Airports (SLCDA).

STRONG LOCAL ASSORTMENTS

Land Speed by Depot is a travel convenience concept displaying four categories – Media, Essentials, Marketplace and Destination – dedicated to speed enthusiasts’ yearly visit to Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah to break the land speed record.

Central Pointe Market is another locally inspired convenience concept selling gifts and confections paying homage to Salt Lake City’s transportation history.

The lineup is completed by the iconic Hudson convenience outlet, which sells books, magazines, snacks and beverages, travel and convenience necessities, local souvenirs and electronics.

The four new shops coincide dovetail with the completion of the first phase of the new Salt Lake City International Airport.

All four shops coincide with the completion of the first phase in an historic redevelopment programme at SLC and are part of Hudson’s eight-year contract won in 2018.

When work completes, Hudson will operate 13 stores offering local, national and international concepts and expand its footprint by nearly 6,000 incremental square feet.

“The opening of the new terminal and concessions at Salt Lake City International Airport is an important event because it represents our collective efforts as an industry to rebuild stronger than ever after Covid-19,” said Roger Fordyce, Chief Executive Officer of Hudson.

“Together with our partners at the SLCDA, our four new stores incorporate the highest level of safety SLC travellers are looking for without sacrificing the culture, spirit and ingenuity the capital city is known for.”
