New Sales Director for Ferrero TM

By Caroline Sargent |

Ferrero Travel Market has appointed Maurizio Cartone to the role of Sales Director with effect from 8 September, following the departure of Juan Miguel Cabrera to pursue solo interests.

Cartone assumes this new responsibility for the Italian confectionery manufacturer after a ‘fruitful period’ as Sales Director for Ferrero Iberica (Spain & Portugal). Reporting directly to General Manager Francois Godin and backed by a strong team, his remit is to draw on that experience to ensure continuity of the sales strategy, while further developing the Ferrero business and maintaining the ‘excellent relationships’ the brand has forged with partners around the world.

Francois Godin commented, “In the seven years which Juan Miguel spent at Ferrero we have been impressed by his professionalism and energy in his various roles. He has contributed enormously to the growth of the Ferrero business in the travel retail domain, having a direct impact on its development in all areas, first as Head of Europe, then Head of Overseas, and finally in his position of Sales Director over the last two years. We wish to thank him for the tremendous contribution to our success and wish him every good fortune in his future endeavours.

“We welcome Maurizio to this challenging new role in a sector which is fascinating and very dynamic. TFWA World Exhibition next month provides the perfect opportunity to meet customers and we are sure he will soon feel at home in travel retail.”

Samuel Polla, who has several years’ experience in the Ferrero Germany domestic market and other functions at a more central level, will continue to head the European sales force.

Guillaume Voisin, already well-established as Head of Sales in the Middle East region, will now see his responsibilities increased to include the Asia Pacific region, with the title Head of Sales – Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Karen Granit, currently operating as Head of Sales – Americas, will see her team reinforced with the arrival of Luca Marigo in Sao Paolo. Luca is tasked with focusing Ferrero’s efforts in Latin and South America.
