Clogau sails into Hong Kong with HK Cruise Plaza launch

Cruising on its Asian momentum, Welsh gold jewellery brand Clogau has made its Hong Kong debut at the state-of-the-art Kai Tak Cruise Terminal with the opening of a shop-in-shop corner on 23 January.

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Victoria Harbour and built on the former runway of the fabled Kai Tak airport, the Foster + Partners designed terminal promises a high-class cruising, dining and entertaining experience for passengers, visitors and locals.

“The location is utterly inspiring with unlimited and diverse potential”, comments Artemis Couroupaki, Clogau’s APAC New Business Development Manager.

“It has been a great honour for Clogau to become a part of this project by joining the retail portfolio of HK Cruise Plaza. The professionalism of the team, the HK Cruise Plaza branding and the retail offering are truly on a par with the state-of-art facilities.”

Clogau’s Kai Tak jewellery range consists of the brand’s most popular collections, such as Fairy, Cariad, Am Byth and Awelon available in 18ct gold, 9ct and sterling silver.

Prices range from US$129 to US$ 2,000, offering a wide variety of options to suit all budgets.

The brand new bridal collection is also available at HK Cruise Plaza. Clogau Compose celebrates the brand’s royal and cultural heritage through a collection of wedding rings containing the same rare Welsh gold that the British Royal Family have used to create their wedding rings since 1923.

Several of the designs feature the brand’s symbolic ‘Tree of Life’ filigree, incorporating a modern, contemporary twist with a choice of diamond cut and a combination of gold colours.

HK Cruise Plaza Merchandising Manager, Ms Jannie Chu, says, “We are delighted to welcome Clogau among our brands. With its Royal gold it has a unique story to tell and we are optimistic that our customers will embrace the brand and fall in love with its jewellery.”

Adds Artemis Couroupaki, “Clogau has built a strong presence on cruise ships along the years partnering with reputable partners such as Harding Brothers, Cunard, Princess Cruises, Tallink, and being in a cruise terminal environment complements our strategy to develop our ground duty free business.

“Launching this shop-in-shop corner in Hong Kong has double significance for us, as it is the prelude to entering the HK retail market, which is due by the end of 2015. On behalf of Clogau, I would like to thank wholeheartedly HK Cruise Plaza for their support.”
