Dalian re-opening continues China Duty Free’s downtown expansion in China

China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has re-opened its downtown duty free shop in China’s international port city of Dalian.
Located adjacent to the landmark Xinghai Square, the 500sq m shop features a wide assortment of perfumes & cosmetics, watches, jewellery, fashion and small household appliances.
Big name brands joining the merchandise lineup include Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Shiseido, Clarins, Versace, Timex, Swarovski, APM, Samsonite, Prada, Chloé, Ferragamo, Burberry, Givenchy and Jimmy Choo.
Additionally, customers can benefit from click and collect services at the Dalian duty free shop.
DALIAN: A NEW DF&TR WINDOW
Situated on the peninsular south of Liaoning Province, Dalian remains an important coastal hub for tourism and trade.
The upgrade of the stores extends the current duty free footprint at the port, easing the comfort and convenience for overseas tourists visiting Dalian.
CDFG says the re-opening of the store creates a new ‘window’ to showcase Dalian duty free and tax free to the world.
The opening comes as CDFG continues its concerted retail expansion drive across mainland China, with plans to open further downtown stores in Beijing, Macau, Shanghai, Qingdao and Xiamen.
Over the past few years, CDFG has swooped for concessions at Hong Kong International Airport (CDF-Lagardère), Beijing Capital International Airport, Shanghai Airports (Pudong and Hongqiao) and Macau International Airport (CDFG-King Power Macau).
Earlier this year, it won the duty free bid at the new Beijing Daxing International Airport, which is due to open in September.
It has also opened new shops in Hainan Province – where it already operates at the sprawling Haitang Bay shopping Complex in Sanya – at Bo’ao in Qionghai and Haikou.
The company said: “In the future, CDFG will rely on the strong tourism industry chain resources of its parent company China Travel Group, firmly grasp the ‘One Belt and One Road’ strategic measures and the opportunities brought about by the vigorous development of domestic and overseas tourism and exert its strong tax free business operation capabilities.”
