Latest Bowmore rare vintages now available in travel retail in China

Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky has introduced the two latest aged and rare vintages in its 50-Year-Old Vault Series – 30-Year-Old and 40-Year-Old – into travel retail in China.
Just 20 bottles of the Bowmore 40-Year-Old and 321 bottles of the Bowmore 30-Year-Old will be available in global travel retail.
“These exceptionally rare single malt whiskies showcase our ongoing efforts to premiumise the Beam Suntory portfolio and to continue producing highly desirable liquids for our travel customers that are perfect for both collectors and investors alike,” commented Manuel González, Marketing Director of Global Travel Retail for Beam Suntory.
The Bowmore 30-Year-Old (45.1% ABV) single malt whisky has a rich, fruity and smoky style and a naturally burnished gold hue. It is characterised by aromas of ripe apricot, charred pineapple, mango and butterscotch with a taste of tropical fruits, honey, subtle peat smoke and hints of eucalyptus.
It has been nurtured for three decades in sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels, and is crafted from just two casks each year. The liquid was bottled in 2000 from vintage 1989 stock.
The Bowmore 40-Year-Old (48.7% ABV), inspired by the Islay in the Inner Hebrides where the distillery is located, is sure to appeal to collectors with just 159 bottles available globally.
It is a deep rich mahogany colour, with aromas of honey, treacle and exotic fruits combined with beeswax and caramel. On the palate, you can expect hints of pipe tobacco and chocolate along with spices, leather and chestnuts.
